About Llani Solar Ltd

Llani Solar Ltd is Wales’ leading independent solar water heating installer, operating throughout Wales and the borders.  To compliment this service we have now expanded to offer high efficiency wood-fuelled heating systems (wood-pellet boilers and log boilers) and heat pumps (ground source and air source). 

Llani Solar Ltd installs solar water heating systems, heat pumps and wood fuel boilers for a variety of private and commercial applications.

 We work from a business ethic that renewable heating systems, along with other energy conservation measure, can provide an important contribution to reducing the energy use of buildings and to reduce carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions. 

In addition, Llani Solar Ltd is registered with all relevant regulatory bodies:

• As members of the Renewable Energy Association’s REAL Assurance Scheme, Llani Solar Ltd agrees to abide by their Consumer Code which covers all the factors that contribute to a high standard of consumer service, before, during and after a contract is agreed.  For more details of the REAL Assurance Scheme and how the Consumer Code affects you, please go to www.realassurance.org.uk.
• We have full public liability insurance, employer’s liability and contract works liability insurance.   
• We are accredited within the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) having demonstrated compliance with, and sound management of, current health and safety legislation.   See www.chas.gov.uk for more details. 
• We are a member of the National Association of Professional Inspectors and Testers (NAPIT) which ensures our electrical ability and workmanship is regularly assessed to ensure we meet the high standards required by their Association and TrustMark. See www.napit.org.uk for more details.
• We are a registered HETAS installer, confirming that we have been trained and assessed in safety and good practice for solid fuel appliances. See www.hetas.co.uk for more details. 
• We have registered with Construction Line – a Department of Trade and Industry UK register of companies that have met pre-qualification requirements appropriate to public and private sector procurement for the construction sector. See www.constructionline.co.uk for more details.  
• We are not CORGI or OFTEC registered ourselves, but if needed we can bring in the help of CORGI or OFTEC registered plumbers to assist with any work on gas or oil water heating systems.

Before founding Llani Solar Ltd, Chris Lord-Smith, our Director, gained 35 years experience in the building profession. He installed his first solar water heating system in the early 1990’s. He has extensive knowledge of solar water heating systems, having installed most of the panels available on the UK market over the years.  As a time-served tradesman, our installations are grounded in a thorough understand of construction, roofing and heating systems.  This experience provides the technical basis for Llani Solar's high quality installations.

Chris Lord-Smith is a long-standing member of the Association for Environment Conscious Building (www.aecb.co.uk), committed to reducing the impact of the built environment.  Our installers are fully trained and employ the highest standards of workmanship, and health and safety, to ensure our solar systems function as designed and give years of service.
