Why choose Llani Solar to install your renewable heating system?

We are confident that we offer a service that is second to none.  This is how we are different:

1.         Quality equipment at a competitive price

We install great quality systems at reasonable prices. The Energy Saving Trust advises that an average solar water heating system should cost between £3,000 and £5,000, a wood fuel heating system between £5,000 and £14,000, and a heat pump between £6,000 and £12,000. If any company offers you something much cheaper or more expensive you need to question why. For standard domestic installation our quotes will always be within these ranges. We may not necessarily offer the cheapest, but our prices are always competitive and for the quality of equipment we install our prices give great value for money.

2.         We care about our customers and take good care of them

The vast majority of our customers tell us they are “absolutely delighted” or “very satisfied” with our service. Copies of their letters to us are included on our website, see www.llanisolar.co.uk/customercomments. Many customers have said they would be delighted to offer us references, or even to show people their systems. This is a record we are keen to maintain. To achieve this we constantly review our installation procedures and the standards to which we work.

3.         Helpful advice and clear information

We are conscious that a wood boiler, solar system or heat pump is a big investment for you.  We want you to have all the information that you need to make the right decision. If you ring or email us with a question we will do our best to give you the information that you need. If requested we can use the latest computer modeling software to predict accurately what the heating system will provide, the projected energy savings and the CO2 offset, ensuring that a system is designed to meet the individual requirements of the situation. Proper design of a renewable heating system is crucial.  We have extensive experience in design and installation and will design the system to suit your needs.

4.         We will never put you under pressure to make a sale

We will only install a system if it is appropriate for your circumstances. If a renewable heating system is not right for you, then we will say so.  We will never tell you what you want to hear just to get a sale and will never use any high-pressure sales tactics.  We want to ensure that having made that commitment you get the best value for money and a system that will function for years to come. We will give you advice to ensure that you get the right system for your situation.

5.         Great after-sales service and support

We will provide you with simple instructions for the system so that you understand how the system works and how to get the greatest benefit.  If your system isn’t working to your complete satisfaction then we offer a free check, repair and replacement service for any faulty equipment for a period of one year following date of commission. This includes installation materials and our workmanship. We want you to be delighted with your renewable heating system and our no-quibble service is designed to ensure this. In addition we conduct a satisfaction survey of all our customers one month after the installation to ensure that everything is working well and that they are happy with our service. The feedback we receive is used to ensure that our service is second to none.

6.         Fully accredited under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme

The Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) is an independent scheme set up with UK government support to evaluate microgeneration products and installers against robust criteria providing greater protection for consumers.  Accreditation requires an enormous investment of time and money and very few companies have gone through this process. We are accredited installers of solar water heating, wood fuel systems and heat pumps. This means we install to the highest standards and that you can apply for the government’s Low Carbon Buildings Programme grant towards the cost of your installation. See our Case Studies and Links page for links to grant giving bodies.

7.                  We install only the best equipment on the market

Through extensive research and experience we carefully select the equipment from across the entire range available in UK to offer what we consider the very best and most reliable components at the most cost-effective price. All the equipment we install is made by leading companies with years of experience and manufactured in Europe to ensure that they are made to high quality assurance standards. To prevent leaks on our solar systems we use pre-insulated stainless steel with special fittings designed for high pressure and temperatures and we never use automatic air valves (AAVs) which can lead to loss of pressure over time.

8.         We keep our installation team well-trained

We invest in our installation team, putting them through training to ensure they are installing in line with renewable industry best practice and the standards set by the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS). Our small close-nit team of a plumber, an electrician and a roofer work well together, ensuring a quality installation and minimum disruption of your home. All three have had considerable experience in their fields and hold all relevant qualifications and registrations.

9.         Complete peace of mind

As members of the Renewable Energy Association’s REAL Assurance Scheme, we agree to abide by their Consumer Code which covers all the factors that contribute to a high standard of consumer service, before, during and after a contract is agreed. We are accredited under the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) having demonstrated compliance with, and sound management of, current health and safety legislation.  We are a member of the National Association of Professional Inspectors and Testers (NAPIT) which ensures our electrical workmanship meets the high standards required by their Association and TrustMark. We are a registered HETAS installer, confirming that we have been trained and assessed in safety and good practice for solid fuel appliances. We have full public liability insurance, employer’s liability and contract works liability insurance.

10.       Years of experience for a trouble-free, efficient and safe installation

Chris Lord-Smith, founding director of Llani Solar Ltd, has 35 years experience in the building profession. A time-served tradesman, he understands construction and has extensive knowledge of renewable heating systems, having installed his first solar water heating system in the early 1990’s. A long-standing member of the Association for Environment Conscious Building, he is committed to reducing the environmental impact of the built environment and sees renewable heating systems as being able to help reduce the energy use of buildings and to reduce CO2 emissions. Chris was recently honoured in the Sustain Wales “Wales Green List 2009” an award for people across Wales taking action to create a brighter future for Wales.
