For new build projects, or where roofing work is being done, we install roof integrated solar panels by Gasokol or VELUX. These are fitted when the roof is felted and battened, prior to slating/tiling. This means the panels sit flush to the roof line.

Where solar panels are retro-fitted to an existing roof of a house, we install roof mounted solar panels. These can either be flat plate collectors by Gasokol, Genersys, Grant, Vaillant or Wolf, or evacuated tube collectors by Ritter or Viessmann. The collectors are installed on a railing attached to the roof. A small number of slates/tiles are removed from the roof, for the pipe work to be fed through, and the hole covered with a lead flashing.

Flat plate collectors can be installed vertically or horizontally. Enabling us to install them in small or odd shaped roofs.

The ideal location for solar panels is on a south-facing roof. Where this is not available, for example the roof faces East/West, or it is a listed building where permission would be refused, there are several alternative options:
Solar panels installed on a flat roof of the garage. Panels installed horizontally, rather than vertically, to reduce the profile profile to the wind.
Solar panels mounted on an A-frame on the south-facing gable wall of a house.
Solar panels mounted on an A-frame in a sunny location in the garden.
